Actor Neil Nitin Mukesh’s dreamy wedding in the city of lakes is the stuff dreams are made of!
The Meeting:
The actor was introduced to Rukmini Sahay through his parents. After a month or courtship, the couple hosted a low key roka ceremony on the auspicious day of Dussehra last year.
The Wedding:
The beautiful couple got hitched as per Hindu rituals in a close knit wedding ceremony on February 9. The wedding ceremony happened at the sprawling surroundings of the Radisson Blu Palace Resort and Spa in Udaipur. It was attended by close friends and family.
The “Prem Ratan Dhan Payo” actor looked majestic in a cream and maroon sherwani while the bride looked absolutely stunning in a red and orange lehenga. Both the attires were designed by Sarath Krishnan.
The Cocktail:
The functions started with a grand cocktail and engagement event held at the Radisson Blu Palace Resort and Spa in Udaipur.
The cocktail and the engagement was done in a royal English vintage garden theme and was decorated with flowers, silk drapes and open air tents. The dress code for the evening was formal – then men wore tuxedos and the women wore gowns.
While Neil looked dapper in a black tuxedo designed by Aditya Kilachand, his fiancé looked like a million bucks in a shimmery gown designed by Sarath Krishnan.
Dj suketu entertained the audience with his groovy numbers.
The Mehendi:
The mehendi was a typical traditional affair following a “Mewari Mela” theme which had a colour contrasting decor.
The entire venue was decked up with orange and yellow flowers. The bride to be Rukmini Sahay wore a pink and beige sari and even her jewellery had floral motifs all over.
Neil was seen in a bright pink silk Krishna Mehra kurta pajama wheneres rukminis attire was designed by Nishi Nitin Mukesh.
The Sangeet:
The sangeet started with special performances by Bollywood veteran actors and close family friends like Pamela Chopra and Rishi Kapoor.
Rishi Kapoor sang his popular song ” Main shayar toh nahi” and even called the couple on the stage to verse with him.The bride and groom also gave an impromptu dance performance on Bollywood hits like Tu Mera Hero, Kala Chashma and Nashe Si Chadh Gayi among others.
Neil wore a cream and gold Narendra Kumar creation while Rukmini chose to wear a traditional green lehenga with intricate gotta Patti and zardozi embroidery by designer Krishna Mehta.
The Reception:
Neil Nitin Mukesh and Rukmini Sahay’s wedding reception in Mumbai was a star studded affair! In attendance were Salman khan, rumoured girlfriend Lulia Vantur and Katrina Kaif. Bollywood mega star Amitabh Bachchan was also present with wife jaya Bachchan and son Abhishek Bachchan.
Timeless beauty Rekha was also spotted taking part in the celebrations. Sooraj Barjatya, Swara Bhaskar, Bipasha basu, karan singh grover, Madhur Bhandarkar, Abbas Mustan, Alka Yagnik,Mugdha Godse, Zayed khan with wife Mallika, Sophie Chaudhary, Udit Narayan with son Aditya and wife and others were also some of the attendees. Neil’s and Rukminis outfits were by designer Manav gangwani.
The couple were colour coordinated in ivory and emerald green outfits. Neil looked radiant in a classic jodhpuri suit and Rukmini looked like a goddess a green heavily embroidered lehenga. The decor for the reception was European themed, highlighted by white and pink carnations.
The hotel nightclub was booked for the after party and a banquet was booked for the actual function.
