Why intimate/close knit weddings are a good option!

Weddings were a simpler affair about two decades back, now however in India people are spending an enormous amount of money on weddings!

The whole concept of weddings in India have usually been flamboyant and extravagant just like a wedding scene straight out of a Karan Johar or a Yash Chopra movie oozing grandeur and luxury. Gigantic halls with colourful drapery and stunning decor, well choreographed dance performances by family members, loud blaring music, the hustle bustle of the crowd, lavish cuisines, earth-shattering designer outfits and what not!

While you might be dreaming of such a larger than life wedding, spare a thought to the idea of intimate weddings as well.

An intimate wedding wouldn’t only make your wedding celebrations more enticing, it’ll also ensure that you’re surrounded by the people that mean the world to you!

Here are a few reasons why you should seriously consider having an intimate wedding!

1. It’s all about the money, honey!

Nowadays everyone is opting for smaller weddings in order to use that money for better purposes. Traditional big fat weddings are all about inviting hundreds of people, reserving top notch venues and hotel rooms to accommodate them and booking the best food caterer in town. How about securing that money for a better and a more beautiful life? You can use that money for a luxury exotic honeymoon or but jewellery or other valuable things.

2. A little bit of a personal touch

Close knit wedding wedding affairs have that personal touch where you can spend some cosy unforgettable moments with your loved ones instead of attending to guests you hardly know, have rarely met or will probably never meet again! With a smaller guest list you only invite those you truly want to share your big day with so you get to spend more time with those who you truly cherish.

3. Customising all the way!

Customising a huge wedding can be very difficult and expensive! An intimate wedding is not only easy on your pocket but also easier to manage. So with a smaller gathering you can add personal touches to your wedding according to your style, from personalised handwritten “thank you” notes to engraving the wedding favours with your and your partners names, the possibilities are endless!

4. Splurge on better things

Don’t worry you can still get your Manish Malhotra bridal lehenga you’ve always dreamt of! Having a close- knit affair does not mean it’s suppose to be devoid of any luxury. Infact having a smaller guest list, you can opt for a more lavish venue and spend a bit more on the areas you really wanna splurge on. It could be the best food catering services in town, a fabulous venue or your favourite music artist/band!

5. It’s definitely less stressful¬†

With a smaller gathering you’re obviously less worked up! You can relax and enjoy your wedding functions and have personal interactions with people who truly matter. A destination wedding is also an amazing option with your few close friends, they’re usually more laid back. So kickback and make the most of your big day!

Happy Planning! ūüôā

Things couples must do together before they tie the knot! #CourtshipChecklist

We know you’re overwhelmed & you’re excitement levels are skyrocketing right now cause you’ve finally found the one!

But marriages aren’t easy, relationships aren’t easy in general. You’re suddenly legally bound to someone else and that can be a little weird initially but don’t you worry, we have a great checklist for you.

A list of things you should be doing with your fiancé during your courtship period!

1. Chit-chat on the phone

images-63

It’s a fantastic way to get to know each other, could be a great ice breaker. You can talk about anything and everything. Take out time amid all the madness and talk to each other. You’ll learn so much about your fianc√© and get over that initial awkwardness. Take it slow, take it easy and turn the awkward to awesome.

2. Let the semi sexting begin!

IMG_7133

We’re not talking about full blown sexting here but it’s time you start sending naughty texts to each other. You don’t just become intimate overnight. Every relationship grows over time, be it emotional or physical. You need subtle ways for the bond to grow and semi sexting can be a lot of fun!

3. Make short trips together

IMG_7132

Candle light dinners are great but if you really want to get to know your partner then take a day trip or a mini vacation with bae. You’ll learn so much about them! When we travel, we step out of our comfort zones and in doing so we reveal to our partner a different side of ourselves. Plus it’ll be like a mini honeymoon before the actual big one, a trial run perhaps!

4.Get to know each other’s families

images-202

This ofcourse is very crucial for the both of you & your families. You’re not just marrying the person, you’re marrying into their family and all their drama too! Start making dinner/lunch plans with each other’s families, go for day trips, picnics, either way get to know th extremely well. The better you get along with them the easier your life will be.

5. Have the kid talk!

IMG_7135

It might sound premature and totally awkward at this stage but trust us it’s really essential. The worst thing you can do is go into a marriage without being completely committed or compatible in one way or another. If one of you wants one and one of you doesn’t, you can’t expect your marriage to succeed. Talk to a gynaecologist as a couple if you’re too embarrassed to talk about these things for now.

6. Discuss your expectations for your marriage!

images-122

While sharing your dreams, hopes, desires and aspirations, also share the goals you have for each other and your future together. Make sure you’re both in the same boat. Your future should be a combined effort based on what you both want for yourselves and each other. Just make sure your expectations are reasonable or you might just scare your spouse away!

7. Introduce each other to your friends and bond together

images-116

Friends are an important part of your life. They share your interests and know the real you. It’s important to know each other’s friends and bond with them. Introduce each other to your friends and plan frequent outings together. This will help your partner to see the more relaxed & real you, and also be a part your friend’s circle.

8. Let the wedding planning be a thing you do together!

Being involved in your wedding planning with your spouse could tell you a lot about their tastes, likes and dislikes and how compatible you both are. The wedding time creates a lot of conflict and clash of opinions. Be on the same page, compromise and adjust for each other and plan your big day together. This could be a productive way to spend time together.
